Virtual Reality Therapy
For 100 children with incurable or life-limiting diseases from across the country
More than 100 children from the whole country, patients with incurable or life-limiting conditions, under the care of the Casa Speranței HOSPICE centers in Bucharest and Braşov, benefit from therapy sessions based on virtual and augmented reality. This solution, implemented in the two centers under the name Tech Room, is thought to help them to bear more easily the disease and the often excruciating medical procedures they go through. With Tech Room, kids can escape for a while into a reality where they can climb Everest, land on the moon with Neil Armstrong, fly through a city as an eagle or swim with dolphins.

The solution based on virtual and augmented reality was implemented in the two centers within the “Connection for care and compassion” project, developed through a partnership between the Vodafone Romania Foundation and Casa Speranţei HOSPICE.
The therapy based on virtual and augmented reality, implemented in the HOSPICE Casa Speranței centers, uses several types of equipment that integrate cutting-edge technologies. Among them is a VR station that has an integrated job simulator with the help of which children can experience various jobs, a virtual wall that allows them to interact with various fantastic characters and a giant piano that they can play by stepping on the keys.
